When it comes to checking labels on the foods you buy, it is not an easy task.  Unless you buy from your local dairies, farms and farmers markets exclusively, you will encounter prepackaged food and that is where the Whole Foods bad ingredient list comes in handy.

This list tells you what to look for when it comes to artificial flavors, colors and the preservatives that prepackaged foods contain to make them last forever on the shelves.  A good rule of thumb when heading into the grocery store is to shop the outside of the store first.  Those ingredients and foods are the freshest and most likely to not contain any of the bad things listed on the Whole Foods list.
