Almond oil: Good for you inside and out

I have recently started making my own sugar scrubs.  I have very dry skin and moisturizing in the shower and after is the key for my skin to not itch and crack through out the day.  I have enjoyed experimenting with different natural oils and I think I have found my favorite in almond oil.

The benefits of almond oil:

Reverse sun damage: “You may already protect yourself from the sun with sunblocks and sunscreens, but almond oil is another tool you can use. The March 2007 issue of the “Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology” reports a study that states that applying almond oil to the skin will not only protect it, but can also reverse damage that may have already occurred.”

Prevent acne: “One of almonds skin benefits will be useful for most acne sufferers because almonds can reduce the appearance of acne, along with blackheads and whiteheads. When treated regularly with almonds oil, your acne will gradually disappear.” (1)

Wrinkles: “Because of its various antioxidants and anti-aging properties, you can use almonds to reduce wrinkles and fine lines in your face. It can be done by massaging your face regularly with almonds oil.” (1)

Shiny Hair:  “Apply the oil twice a week to your hair. After a week of treatment, you should notice extra shine in your hair.” (2)

Almond oil is also a wonderful cooking oil. “Substitute vegetable or canola oil with almond oil to make healthier meals. It does not contain any cholesterol or trans fat, which cause high blood pressure.”

I love that I can make my own skin treatments and not only save money but use natural ingredients not chemicals!
