As I am writing this, my stomach is rumbling. I have missed breakfast, not so good.
I know a lot of people skip breakfast but in reality, people should skip dinner. Breakfast is cheaper, most times healthier and by eating it, you increase your metabolism by kick starting your body at the beginning of you day. Breakfast is the meal where your carbs should be eaten, where you get your energy for your day. It is also the meal where if you eat a high protein (eggs, cheese, meat), high complex carb (oatmeal, whole wheat) and low sugar meal, it will cause you to eat less throughout the day but give you more energy!
According to experts:
“Some people skip breakfast in an effort to lose weight, but the practice is more likely to cause weight gain than weight loss. Skipping breakfast is strongly linked to the development of obesity. Studies show that overweight and obese children, adolescents, and adults are less likely to break the fast each morning than their thinner counterparts.”
Food for thought, I think.
Here is a terrific recipe to start you day off right (night off right if you do shift work):
Saturday Morning Concoction
