Fresh Herbs – More Benefits Than Just Flavor « Health Now, Wealth Forever

Spread the love

Fresh herbs are some of the easiest things to grow at home.  They add flavor to your food and beauty to your garden.  Lavender, Thyme and Basil are just a few of the herbs that can be started in your kitchen window and moved out to the garden.   Not only are fresh herbs delicious, beautiful but they can also help you feel better when you are sick.

Basil can soothe coughing and help ease anxiety.  Coriander/Cilantro aids in digestion.  Mint can relieve stuffy noses.  Oregano is a strong antioxidant.[1]  In the fall season of flus and colds, instead of loading up on over the counter meds (expensive and your body grows a tolerance to them), try supplements and fresh herbs added to your chicken soup.

Starting a small garden with flowers and herbs can add to the beauty of your space and health of your body!  For tips on growing herbs, I love the book Grow Great Grub by Gayla Trail.
