I was reading an article about Tamiflu from the Tropical Traditions daily alert.  This article was very informative about taking this chemical that has pretty awful side effects.

Drugs called Tamiflu are chemicals (ethyl (3R,4R,5S)-5-amino-4-acetamido-3-(pentan-3-yloxy)-cyclohex-1-ene-1-carboxylate) that are said to prevent flu or treat the flu. This CDC-approved and recommended-for-all chemotherapy has been shown to cause more vomiting and diarrhea.  Roche, the maker, has refused to release the data from studies on the effectiveness of Tamiflu to independent researchers for over three years. Chemotherapy?  Yes, according to the medical definition at dictionary.com (and others), chemotherapy is the treatment of disease by means of chemicals that have a specific toxic effect upon the disease-producing microorganisms or that selectively destroy cancerous tissue. So technically this is what Tamiflu therapy is.

The full article tells the deception by Roche and their disregard to show their research that this is a safe drug.  Of course, FDA and the CDC say it is safe, but they have said lots of drugs, foods and chemicals are safe, right?  Hmmm . . . . .

Here’s some more evidence to the contrary: The Tamiflu Deception by David Michael, Journal of Natural Food & Health

Instead of Tamiflu, here are some other things to think about.  These are only my suggestions.

I have been using the honey and cinnamon “tea” and I am amazed at how much better I feel.  Refined honey and cinnamon do give me heartburn, but raw unfiltered honey mixed with the cinnamon does not.  I also have been using the elderberry syrup.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ingredient, which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

*NOTE: The honey used needs to be REAL RAW UNPASTEURIZED HONEY. If it says PURE honey it is most likely pasteurized. It is best to only buy honey that says RAW or UNPASTEURIZED on the label. The difference is that the enzymes are all heated out of the pasteurized honey.

Elderberry is used for its antioxidant activity, to lower cholesterol, to improve vision, to boost the immune system, to improve heart health and for coughs, colds, flu, bacterial and viral infections and tonsillitis.  Bioflavonoids and other proteins in the juice destroy the ability of cold and flu viruses to infect a cell. People with the flu who took elderberry juice reported less severe symptoms and felt better much faster than those who did not. Elderberry juice was used to treat a flu epidemic in Panama in 1995.

I also did a search for other natural remedies.  This page from webMD  gives some insight into natural supplements, but this is from the medical point of view which is biased toward medicine as the best remedy.  Natural remedies that were mentioned are Vitamin C, zinc, Echinacea, elderberry, garlic, ginseng, andrographics (Indian echinacea) and combinations of these.  The author says to seek your physician before using these, but the double standard is that he says that the studies have not proved them safe, yet the same standard does not apply for Tamiflu—Roche will not release to independent researchers their findings of the effectiveness, yet doctors readily prescribe this. If you have gone to the doctor and he/she is prescribing this, please ask for an explanation of all the side effects of this chemotherapy.
