So you thought that Vinegar was good for cleaning and for pickling – however, there is a much wider uses for vinegar and many, many health benefits inside and outside your body.

There are several types of vinegar, but this post will only deal with the generic white distilled vinegar.

1 This is how white distilled vinegar is made:
  1. Corn is distilled into corn alcohol
  2. To make vinegar, corn alcohol is combined with water and nutrients
  3. That combination is then fermented into white distilled vinegar
  4. Fermentation is a process in which the nutrients change the natural corn alcohol into vinegar under controlled conditions
  5. The fermentation process is complete when the remaining alcohol has been depleted from the product
  6. Before bottling, the vinegar goes through a multi-step filtering process including ultra-filtration to ensure purity and clarity of the finished product
  7. No preservatives, no additives, all natural

2 Uses for Vinegar to improve your health:

White distilled vinegar is something good for you on the inside and the outside.

The next time you’re not feeling well, consider taking a break from expensive over-the-counter products and try a home remedy that is made with vinegar.

  • Helps with high blood sugar.
  • A daily dose helps with Alzheimer’s risks.
  • This in turn helps reduce the risks to memory loss and dementia.
  • Assists in controlling high blood sugar, insulin resistance, diabetes, pre-diabetes and weight gain.

It is the acidity that is the key. Vinegar does not confront Alzheimer’s directly, but studies at Arizona State University have found that vinegar can curb appetite and food intake, helping prevent weight gain and obesity. Swedish studies agree with Arizona State.

One study shows that downing two or three tablespoons of vinegar with white bread cuts expected rises in insulin and blood sugar by about 25 percent.

Pour on the vinegar — add it to salad dressings, eat it by the spoonful, even mix it into a glass of drinking water.

Any type of vinegar works because it’s the acidity that counts.

Other Uses Beneficial Uses for Distilled White Vinegar

  • Reduce itching from insect stings and bites by dabbing them with a cotton ball saturated with undiluted white distilled vinegar.
  • Reduce blistering and peeling from sunburn by spraying with white distilled vinegar.
  • White distilled vinegar can be used as an antiseptic for cuts and scrapes.
  • If you have foot odor, you can reduce it by washing your feet well with antiseptic soap daily, then soaking them in undiluted cider vinegar for about 10 minutes.
  • You can clean a hairbrush or a comb by soaking them in a white distilled vinegar solution.
  • Tone your facial skin or treat after-shave rashes with a solution of equal parts white distilled vinegar and water.
  • You can eliminate bad breath and whiten your teeth by brushing them once or twice a week with white distilled vinegar.
3 White vinegar is well-known for being a useful household cleanser and in recipes, but vinegar also contains nutrients, and has been used for treating ailments and skin conditions for centuries. Vinegar is basically “sour wine”; cider vinegar is made from apples and has a mellow taste, while white vinegar, made from grain, possesses a harsher taste. Common white and cider vinegar have a 5 percent acidity, which is why they make effective cleansers and home remedies. Before using vinegar as a supplement or to treat any health condition, consult your physician.
