In my previous post To Fix the World, You Must See it as Broken, I spoke of seeing the world in a different light.
In our current world, there is so much hardship caused by natural disaster, political unrest and violence. Hoping that we will be saved by others is almost a lost hope but we can help our fellow people by teaching and learning compassion, tolerance and love. Do unto others as you would have done to you is a common but powerful statement. If we see others as broken or unable to help, what does that mean about us? Look into yourself at this time of year, are you able to help? Are you able to put yourself in the shoes of others and offer the kindness you would want for yourself?
The holidays tend to bring out the best in us. Whether we give to a cause, monetarily or with our time, we can inspire others to do the same. During this time of giving, I challenge you to look at your community and your world in a different light. Where can you help? I am constantly inspired by my friends, my community and my world. My hope in this holiday season is that each of us find inspiration, learn and practice compassion and find the love of the amazing spirit of the holiday season to fuel us through the years.
