So you find yourself stuck in the middle of a transitory stage and feel as though you’ve been there for far too long. Perhaps you decided that you’d outgrown your job and decided to start a new career and are still in-between jobs.  Or you’ve obtained your degree and can’t seem to hook a job in your field.  Maybe it’s been decided that your marriage is irreparably damaged and you have been in the middle of a divorce for the last year.  All of these situations can be draining.  Here are some things to consider:

  • Are you actively moving towards your goal? Sometimes we allow ourselves to become distracted by shiny objects along our path.
  • Do you have a goal? Or are you waiting for one to appear?  It’s easy to lose your way and become overwhelmed by the sheer number of options.  Perhaps adjusting your perspective can help you find your purpose again.
  • Do you put up walls for yourself? Maybe getting what you want scares you.  Many people actively, but unconsciously, postpone what they want.  Are you one of them?  Perhaps you feel as though you don’t deserve to have your dream job, dream mate, or attend the dream concert.  If so, you probably make excuses and sabotage yourself.  It could be something that happened to you in your childhood that turned your personality and habits towards self-sabotage.  Go back through your childhood memories.  Look for patterns that look the same: you wanting to accomplish something and consistently falling short of your goal. When did it start?  What happened around that time that’s related?  Why did it affect you?  Once you know, you can start to fix the root, which will fix all the problems stemming from it.
  • Your situation, lacking though it is, has become comfortable. You can’t stand it and you want to move forward, but a goal is unknown territory and your transition is familiar and comfortable.  Allow us a quote brought to our attention recently: “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”  Anais Nin said that.  We risk far more to remain in the safety of knowing.

You know yourself better than anyone else and deep down you know that you deserve the best, you are capable of the best and you are more than capable of handling anything that comes your way.

We have a strong desire to see you fly.  Everyone is capable of being great.  Don’t let you or anyone else tell you that you that you can’t be great.  We hope that this article has moved you closer to greatness.  Please leave a comment telling us your wildest dreams.
