Rewrite Your Story

Gary posted this on Facebook:

“If you dream it, you can do it.”  Walt Disney

It fit how I have been thinking about how I can turn my thinking to positive for my life and what my future is.

This hangs on the wall in our bathroom:

“Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you . . .”  Matthew 7:7

This is from the Daily Teachings, The Secret:

“You can limit yourself by the story you have created about you.  Here are some simple examples of how the story we have created about ourselves can limit us:  I am no good at math.  I have never been able to dance.  I am not a very good writer.  I am very stubborn.  I don’t sleep well.  I am very moody.  I struggle with my weight.  My English is not good.  I am always late.  I am not a very good driver.  I can’t see without my glasses.  It is very hard for me to make friends.  Money seems to slip through my fingers.

The moment you become aware of what you are saying, you can delete these things and REWRITE your story!”

Yes, we can rewrite our story.  I have been catching myself thinking and saying some of these negative thoughts and spoken words—so I am REWRITING and changing my SPOKEN words to the positive words that support my dreams and life in the positive!  We have read the Secret Daily Teachings right before we go to sleep for several years now.  We have lost some, but it seems like the ones we need to hear again and at just the right time pop up.   Sometimes it is a “Hey, we are doing that now” or  “Wow, I said a don’t or negative today—I am going to rewrite that.”  This could have been the most negative year of our lives, but because we have had these little reminders and are encouraging each other to the positive—it has been a year of learning and living in the positive.

Yes, we can REWRITE our story.

About Marilyn

I am a "retired senior" (I've been a school librarian and library tech for a government research facility) who is now pursuing a dream of a home business sewing bags of all sorts, crafting and being the creative person I have always wanted to be. I grew up in the center of Illinois and dreamed of actually living back in the state of Colorado where I was born and lived till the age of 7. That dream came true when I met my husband of 43 years while working together in Estes Park. I am interested in alternative medicine, continuing the good health I've always had, while returning to the pre-processed food era of: eating well, losing weight, and using products that do not harm the environment, me, my family and friends. I am for labeling GMO’s, using sustainable products, organics and finding solutions to everyday problems, like colds and sore muscles, using natural remedies. I have a positive attitude that has helped through a very hard year and will bring forth a life that will be full and happy. My family is wonderful and I am a happy lady, wife, mother, and grandma.
