The True Role of Visualization

Imagine a target.  You are going to aim for the target.  You have your dart poised and enter the room where the target is. The problem is that the room is pitch black. You can’t see your target, can’t see where the target is.  But you decide to throw the dart anyway.  How likely is it that you will hit the target?  Pretty slim, I would wager.

This is the role of Visualization. It isn’t necessarily about “manifestation”.  It’s about knowing where to throw your dart.  If you can’t see where to aim, how are you going to hit your goal?

Visualization lets you see where you want to aim.  It isn’t the target; it’s the light in the room.  It lets you see your goal.  If you can’t see your goal, you don’t know where to focus your efforts and they will be spread out and most will be wasted.  The better the Visualization, the better lit the target.  You know what direction, how big, what colors, the pattern,  and the material the target is.  Now you can aim with accuracy and confidence.

The light won’t bring the target to you, but it will allow you to see how to hit it.

About Nathan

Hi! I am Nathan! So why am I here? That is my main question. I am fascinated by the current wave of science meeting with the philosophical questions throughout history. I am a Taoist and a disorganized dreamer who makes up new words to describe states of being and thought processes. I love to bring to you these simple yet powerful little inspirations and truths. I believe that each one of us is infinitely important and we are all connected. As Carl Sagan put it, “We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself.” We might be all connected, but you are still you. It is your perceptions that shape your reality. So join me in changing perceptions!
