This Too Shall Pass

It’s been rough lately.  My apartment flooded. Growing pains at my job.  Clean-up in the wake of said flood. Very little money is making it through to me.  Yes, very rough indeed.

There are days when I feel as though I’m going to break, that I am unsure if I am ever going to make it through.  These are the times that I need to remember my own advice. It is hard sometimes to see the bright side (and there is always a bright side) in all of this.  It is nice that I have people in my life to keep me moving up and looking for that bright side.  My apartment flooding made me start looking at the problems with some of my habits, so they may be addressed.  At least I have a job, many people don’t even have that.  Little money means that I have to address the reasons I don’t have more money coming through.  The saying goes, Life never gives you more than you can handle. This actually is true, but somewhat irrelevant. Life often gives you more than you think you can handle and that is what matters.  That is what breaks us.  When life seems hopeless, sometimes you need to go on without hope, but with trust that you will make it through all right.  That “this too shall pass”.

This will pass, but there needs to be the ability to perceive that the troubles have been resolved, that they have passed.  If you can’t see it, then the darkness continues, and you can’t see the bright side, the light that surrounds you.  So, to myself and all of you trying to see the bright sides of your challenges, keep going. It will pass. Keep walking your path.

About Nathan

Hi! I am Nathan! So why am I here? That is my main question. I am fascinated by the current wave of science meeting with the philosophical questions throughout history. I am a Taoist and a disorganized dreamer who makes up new words to describe states of being and thought processes. I love to bring to you these simple yet powerful little inspirations and truths. I believe that each one of us is infinitely important and we are all connected. As Carl Sagan put it, “We are a way for the Cosmos to know itself.” We might be all connected, but you are still you. It is your perceptions that shape your reality. So join me in changing perceptions!
