With a Little Help From My Friends « Health Now, Wealth Forever

Among my family and friends it is no secret that the main obstacle I need to overcome is finishing things.  Indeed, if you were to look through my stuff, you would find books almost finished but not quite, music catalogs almost finished but not quite, books and articles and essays and journals almost finished but not quite.  I tend to relish beginnings and will begin just about anything, but I resist endings.  I will willingly admit to this.  It is especially a problem if I enjoy what I am embroiled in.  I tend to not want it to end.  This would be a critical fault, and it has been plenty of times, without the help of family and friends.

Every time someone near me prods me to go forward, to take the closing step, it helps me finish it up.  Having support in your life is a human necessity.  We need each other to become we what need to be.  This is also a difficult thing for me to grasp onto, since I would rather do it myself, by myself.  But I tend to eat myself after a while without outside help.  Family and friends can be that critical step in completing that change.  They are instrumental in helping resolve that fear that leaving the current story will result in nothing being as good (or comfortable) again.  An outside perspective to help shift your own. Without that support and prodding, I might never have finished anything I enjoyed.
